Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born in South London, England into a mixed family. The mother of her child is English and her father is Nigerian. She was a student at The Brit School when she was fourteen years old. She was a student at an academy called the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London in which she earned a BA in acting. She appeared on stage in numerous productions during her time at school including the role of King Henry V, as Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights, as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe got her start in acting through a short film called Storm Damage. Since then, she's been making appearances in guest roles for Teachers, Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Her debut film as a performer is the Woody Allen 2007 movie Cassandra's Dream. She starred alongside Colin Farrell & Ewan MacGregor. After that, she played Elisha in the one-off BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN which aired in 2007 and she also appeared in six episodes of Trexx as well as Flipside playing Ollie. In 2008, she was offered the Bambi part on the ITV2 Drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. She appeared in both series 2 and 3. Madekwe was also the lead character in How to lose friends & alienate people, which was released by Sony Pictures Entertainment back in 2008. Her credits in theatre are Little Sweet Thing or Roy Williams and Flight Path of David Watson.
Madekwe's US debut came in 2009 when she appeared on the thriller The Beautiful Life. The show aired just two episodes before being cancelled on The CW. In February of 2011 she was cast in the role of Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. In May of 2013, it was announced that Madekwe who had been a series regular in the two previous seasons, had decided to quit the show after a guest-appearance in the first episode of the season's new episode. On the show Salem the actress played Tituba from 2014 until the year 2016. Madekwe married her long-time love, Iddo. They collaborated on Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Goldberg also appeared with her on Salem.
Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress was raised in a large family from Hamilton, Ontario. Her family included the parents Roy and Patty together with four older brothers: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. Ashley's brothers, who were who were all extremely athletic, played hockey during the winters and baseball in the summer, so that she grew up playing in parks and arenas. Ashley did not have the ability to walk, but she danced. As she was two and a half, she took up Baby Ballet and fell in with. Ashley was addicted to dance since that time. Ashley continued to dance competitively throughout high school at the top levels of competitions, such as tap, Jazz, Ballet, Pointe, Acrobatics, Musical Theatre, Lyrical Hip Hop, and much more. She was the top soloist in big competitions, such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance which were all given to Ashley.
