Madison Elle Beer from Long Island, New York was an early fan of music. She began making videos in 2012 of her performing renditions of popular songs. Within a few months, pop idol Justin Bieber came across her rendition of Etta James' "At Last" and shared it with more than 25 million of his Twitter followers. The coverage led to her signing a contract with a record label at Island Records, and then the signing of a management contract with Bieber's manager. At the same time, Beer was also cast as a minor character in the film of independent filmmakers Louder Than Words, which included David Duchovny and made its debut at the film festival in 2013. Her first single"Melodies," her melismatic and poppy song "Melodies," also saw release late that year.Beer's vocals started appearing on songs by other artists, including Cody Simpson's "Valentine" and the 2015 club track "I Will Not Let You walk away" by Mako. In 2018 she released her own debut EP, "As She Pleases". The single "Home with You" landed in the Top 30 in Norway, while the EP reached the top half of the Billboard 200. Beer released the non-album single "Hurts Like Hell" with Offset in the same year.
